Cacao Volcano
Last Updated: Jun 27, 2011
Situated within Guanacaste National Park, roughly 22 miles from Liberia, Cacao Volcano sits southeast of Orosi Volcano. The volcano is surrounded by humid cloud forest, which serves as a biological corridor for wildlife that migrates between the national park's highlands and the Pacific coast. The area's damp cloud forest is completely different than the cool, mountainous cloud forest seen inland in Monteverde.
